Mayas in the Guatemalan highlands are still weaving beautiful textiles much the same way as their ancestors did centuries ago. The result are not just fabrics, but pieces of art. The process of weaving is very long, one squaremetre of these beautiful fabrics can take between 4 and 12 weeks. Each region and village of Guatemala features its own design and pattern – this particular one is from the village of Chichicastenango.
